Questions and Answers
A resume builder that doesn’t stop at a PDF. You get a live split-screen editor, automatic A4 pagination so nothing gets cut off mid-sentence, a clean public link you control, and — this is the part most builders skip — a mobile-friendly digital business card generated automatically with every resume you make. One tool, not three subscriptions.
It’s genuinely free — no card required to sign up, no seven-day trial that quietly bills you. The Free plan lets you build one resume and keep sharing it. The only limit is editing: after 30 days, that specific resume locks for changes unless you upgrade, though you can still switch it public or private whenever you want.
It’s a phone-optimized version of your resume — same information, reshaped so it’s readable without zooming in or out. It’s generated the moment you create your resume, no extra form to fill in. Hand someone a QR code at an event instead of a folded piece of paper, and they land straight on a version built for their screen.
No, and that’s not a policy promise — it’s how the product is built. The editor, the live preview, the QR code, and the PDF export all run without calling an external API. Fonts are self-hosted. Nothing quietly phones home just so you can build a resume.
Yes, no contract, no “call us to cancel” runaround. Cancel and you drop to the Free plan with a fresh cycle, not a punishment. Downgrade with more resumes than your new plan allows, and your most recently edited one stays fully live — the others simply lock for editing instead of vanishing without warning.
Free accounts run on a 6-month clock. You’ll get a warning email two weeks before anything happens, with a reminder to export your data if you want a copy. Ignore it completely, and the resume content is removed — but you’re never surprised by it.
Completely. Every resume has a public/private switch on your dashboard. Flip it off and your public link stops showing anything — flip it back on whenever you’re ready to share again.
Yes — tailor a different resume per industry or application instead of forcing one version to fit every job. Your dashboard lists all of them, with quick edit, share, and delete, up to your plan’s limit.
No. Deleted resumes land in trash first, not straight into oblivion. Nothing disappears the instant you click delete.
Yes, anytime, in one click — export your resume content as a JSON file straight from your dashboard. It’s your data; you’re not locked in.
Yes — a standard 14-day withdrawal period applies from the moment you purchase, as detailed in our Terms of Sale.
None. Pick a theme, choose a color palette, and the layout — spacing, page breaks, alignment — is handled for you. You fill in content; the design work is already done.
No. The small “Made with ♥ by ResuCard.com” credit only ever appears when someone views your resume on the web — the public page, the share modal, or the mobile view. Your downloaded PDF or printed resume never includes it, on any plan, Free or paid.
This comes from your phone’s built-in “Print” / “Save as PDF” feature, on both Android and iPhone — it doesn’t fully respect the exact page layout web pages request, and adds its own margins regardless of what the page specifies. This isn’t specific to ResuCard; it affects most web-based tools when printing directly from a mobile browser.
Why we don’t “fix” this by turning your resume into an image
There’s a simple way many resume tools avoid this problem: they convert your entire resume into a picture before building the PDF. It looks fine at first glance, and it sidesteps the mobile margin issue completely — but it comes at a real cost, one most people never notice until it matters. In an image-based PDF:
- No text can be selected, copied, or searched — a recruiter can’t copy your email or phone number, and it can’t be pasted anywhere.
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) — the software many companies use to scan resumes for keywords — can’t read a word of it. Your resume becomes effectively invisible to them.
- Every clickable element disappears: your email, your phone number, your portfolio or LinkedIn link all become plain, unclickable pixels.
ResuCard never does this. Your downloaded resume is always a real document — real, selectable, searchable text, with every link (email, phone, website) still fully clickable. The white-margin quirk on some mobile print dialogs is the trade-off for keeping your resume genuinely usable, not just good-looking.
A few workarounds for the margin issue itself:
- Share via QR code or link instead — your resume displays correctly formatted for whoever opens it, with no PDF export involved at all.
- Keep a backup PDF copy on your phone — download and print/save it once from a computer (where this issue generally doesn’t happen), then keep that file on your phone for whenever you need to share or print an actual document on the go.
- Try selecting “Letter” instead of “A4” in your phone’s print/save dialog — on Android, this removes the bottom margin (side margins remain, but it’s an improvement if you need to print directly from your phone).
Yes — choose “Other” from the Language tab and every section title, including the months in your dates, becomes a plain text field you fill in yourself, in any language. English, French, and Spanish just come pre-filled automatically to save you the typing.
Yes — Starter and Pro plans include a cover letter builder with 3 templates, a live A4 preview, and automatic pagination for longer letters. It’s managed separately from your resumes, in its own dashboard section.
Yes — the editor and dashboard themselves are available in English, French, or Spanish. Switch anytime from your dashboard; it’s independent of the language you choose for any individual resume.
